CamelCase

Ok, im Grunde ist es nichts neues und für Programmierer eh absolut kalter Kaffe über den schon bestimmt einige Mammuts gelaufen sein dürften. Obwohl es selbst für mich nicht wirklich neu ist bin ich vor kurzem dazu übergegangen es verstärkt zu benutzen. Es geht um CamelCase. Die Englische Seite von Wikipedia trifft meine Absichten etwas besser, da sie eher auf die Programmieraspekte eingeht.
Zuerst fing ich im Rahmen meiner Diplomarbeit an die Variablen in den dafür geschriebenen Scripten mit CamelCase zu bennenen. Nun pflanzt sich das ganze immer weiter in meine tägliche Arbeit am PC fort.
Ich bin also mal wieder restlos begeistert und kann es jedem nur ans Herz legen. Zumindest bis ich trifftige Gründe gefunden habe warum es doch scheisse ist. Allerdings empfiehlt selbst das PEAR Projekt in ihren “Naming Conventions” CamelCase zu benutzen. Also kann es im Grunde nicht soo schlecht sein.

PHP und Diplomarbeit

Wer hätte schon gedacht, dass ich meine durchschnittlichen PHP-Kenntnisse noch mal sinnvoll für die Uni einsetzen würde. Bisher dachte ich immer, dass es sich bei meinen PHP-Kenntnissen um eine nette Sache handelt die ich aber, außer der Erstellung einer geschäftlichen Webseite, noch nie wirklich sinnvoll eingesetzt habe. Meist drehte es sich um das online Verfügbar machen von Telefonrechnungen für die WG oder eine Weboberfläche zur grundlegenden Bedienung meines Linuxtestrechners.

Nun sah ich im Rahmen meiner Diplomarbeit jedoch vor der Aufgabe große Mengen von CSV Dateien zu beurteilen. Darin waren jeweils Messwertpaare aus Zeit und Kraft enthalten. Also “schnell” ein PHP-Script geschrieben welches alle Dateiname eines bestimmten Typs in einem Verzeichnis in einen Array liest, anschließend die entsprechenden Werte extrahiert und mittels jpgraph in einer Grafik veranschaulicht. Mit massig Optionen zum gestalten der Darstellung ist das ganze mittlerweile richtig fein.
Heute kam dann noch ein weiteres Script dazu, welches sich aber noch im absoluten Alpha Stadium befindet.
